Tech Focus: WorldCast improves codec in transmitter

WorldCast Ecreso FM AiO Series

Tech Focus: WorldCast has released version 3.2.1. of Ecreso FM AiO Series — its newest generation of FM transmitters with an added treat.

This version’s complete modification of the onboard APT IP decoder reflects the latest development of virtualized APT solutions.

As a result, the AiO series now supports the AES67 standard for receiving audio from codecs, sound processors, or any AES67-compatible devices. This will simplify audio cabling at the transmitter site by replacing audio cables with network cables.

Available in 100 W to 1 kW power options, the Ecreso FM AiO Series has advanced built-in software, including the APT IP decoder for audio/MPX over IP, an RDS encoder, sound processing, SmartFM, IceCast and ShoutCast streaming.

WorldCast says that the AiO series has a low TCO. It helps broadcasters transition toward software-rich designs where technology replaces separate hardware.

It adds that the multiple benefits include fewer purchases, complex setups, on-site deployment and maintenance trips.

AiO Series is compatible with other studio broadcast solutions, including the APT IP Silver Encoder, the APT IP Codec or its virtual sibling, the server-based Virtual APT IP Codec.
