Tech Focus: Streaming PC replacement vs Wheatstream Duo Linux appliance?

Wheatstone suggests that if you’re replacing your streaming PC with another Windows computer, you should consider Wheatstream Duo. It provides stream provisioning for two channels (each capable of four outputs), audio processing, metadata support and all the reliability of a Linux appliance for about the cost of a replacement PC.

Wheatstream Duo has an easy-to-navigate web interface, is compatible with standard CDNs and streaming platforms, and can adapt metadata input from most playback automation systems into a single workflow from automation to content delivery.

You can add it to any analog, digital or AoIP studio, including WheatNet IP and AES67-compatible systems. No Windows drivers or updates needed. This Linux appliance fits seamlessly into any studio, either as part of the AoIP or separately.

Also included is a full suite of audio processing tools developed specifically for streaming, with peak limiting, gain control and stereo tools designed to optimize the performance of streaming encoders across a wide variety of internet links.

Switching to a Wheatstream Duo Linux appliance means never hassling with another Windows update on your streaming PC again.
