Tech Focus: Inovonics David IV 719N covers FM and HD Radio

The David IV 719 is the fourth-generation processor in Inovonics’ David series of FM and HD Radio air chain processors. Its streamlined, 100% DSP-based audio engine provides total control over critical sonic “signature” parameters, while smart controls enable quick, effective enhancement of program material.

Processing includes five bands of dynamics compression with equalization, intelligent gain-riding automatic gain control, bass and stereo field enhancements and the proprietary Polarity Independent Peak Processing limiter.

Processing is integrated with a stereo generator, featuring multiple independent level outputs and an RDS sync with active and metered internal combining. Also included are 25 factory presets optimized for popular contemporary world formats and 20 customizable user presets that can be easily shared over station networks.

The David IV 719N may be set up and controlled using the intuitive front-panel menu display and jog wheel, or through an intuitive Network Web GUI.

Broadcasters can expand the processor’s HD Radio capabilities with the optional 719-01 HD Radio Delay Board, providing up to 9.9 seconds of audio delay for MPX composite and analog or digital program line outputs.
