Inovonics says a station’s broadcast stream deserves the same observation as its transmitter.
The company’s 611 Streaming Monitor is dedicated to that job, continuously tracking audio loss, stream loss, internet loss, stuck metadata, buffer underruns and high ping. The unit self-logs, sends email and SMS notifications, and can drive one of six open-collector outputs to a remote control.
The rolling 24-hour history includes audio level, buffer utilization and ping time, each graphed, so a listener complaint at 6.30 that morning is easily examined, not estimated. The 611 also displays Icecast and HLS stream metadata, fixing a stuck title or making a dropped artist field visible before the audience reports it.
Firmware 1.0.3.4 adds scheduling. Thirty events, each running once or recurring weekly, allow one unit to follow whichever stream matters for each daypart without anyone logging in. Failover still switches to a backup preset if a stream drops.
The 611 relays to 10 simultaneous listeners, putting air checks on a program director’s phone without a trip to the rack. HTTPS, Icecast/Shoutcast and HLS are supported, with SNMP and full web control.
