Vortex Communications has developed a special version of its CallMe IP audio technology — Rode CallMe Pro for Rode’s popular RodeCaster Pro-II and Duo audio mixers. With that technology feature, those mixers provide up to three separate codec channels with broadcast-quality remote connectivity.
The Rode CallMe Pro and CallMe hardware codecs offer SIP multistreaming and are compatible with other manufacturers’ devices that support SIP and Opus. Rode CallMe Pro turns off-the-shelf RodeCaster Pro-II and Duo into full-featured remote outside-broadcast codecs, with three separate stereo CallMe channels supporting multiple simultaneous calls via built-in Ethernet, Wi-Fi and USB mobile connectivity. Program audio can be streamed to the studio, with a separate connection for talkback, and a remote guest can be connected to the RodeCaster via a web browser link.
Vortex Communications also says that Vortex CallMe Cloud combines its two browser-based IP audio solutions into a single subscription. Users can now combine Click-&-Connect — a web browser-to-hardware cloud application that lets broadcasters put guest contributors live on air — and CallMe-diRECt — a multi-contributor browser-to-browser audio solution that requires no special hardware — into a single subscription.
