StreamGuys integrates next-generation SGreports with SGroyaltyreporter

StreamGuys has released a significant update to its SGreports audience metrics tool, now fully integrated with its SGroyaltyreporter compliance service. The company states that the new setup streamlines workflows for broadcasters and content providers, enhancing both audience analytics and royalty reporting accuracy.

The update builds on StreamGuys’ earlier enhancements to SGreports, which added consumption metrics for rewindable audio and video streams. SGreports serves as a log-processing and content analytics tool, allowing broadcasters and media companies to monitor how their audiences engage with streaming content. SGroyaltyreporter, known as SGrr, focuses on delivering audit-ready compliance data for submissions to organizations such as SoundExchange.

Unified analytics and compliance

StreamGuys says traditional playlist-based reporting can overlook partial tune-ins or inflate results due to automated traffic. SGroyaltyreporter addresses these issues by combining playlist logs with completed streaming session data. It also provides filtering tools, including IP and UA denylisting, to remove non-human traffic and ensure partial tune-ins are correctly represented. The company notes that this approach provides users with confidence in the reliability of their reporting data.

With SGroyaltyreporter now built directly into SGreports, StreamGuys customers can access a unified analytics and compliance environment. SGreports offers insights into listening hours, session counts, unique users, device types and geographic data. StreamGuys says the integration extends these dashboards and visualizations to royalty reporting, enabling broadcasters to evaluate audience engagement and generate submission-ready reports from a single interface.

Robert Minnix, head of product at StreamGuys, said, “The ethos behind integrating these two technologies is that the closer we can bring together analytics and compliance, the more powerful and stress-free the reporting process becomes for our clients. The integration of SGroyaltyreporter with SGreports delivers spot-on accuracy and reduces the time and effort that’s often put into producing compliant reports. This really gives broadcasters the confidence that their data is both actionable and ready for an audit at any time.”
