Singapore’s parliament has upgraded its critical broadcast audio infrastructure using a combination of Lawo hardware. This comes on the back of Lawo projects with other national parliament TV and radio channels worldwide, including the audio infrastructure for the German Bundestag Parliament TV, Thailand Parliament Radio, Israel’s Knesset, and the massive, scalable audio- and video-over-IP infrastructure of the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg.
The Singapore parliament project included installing a compact 32-fader mc²36MkII all-in-one audio console, powered by IP-native A__UHD technology, with A__stage48 and A__stage64 AoIP nodes integrated into the system as stageboxes. Lawo says these standards-based products support ST2110-30/31 and Ravenna/AES67 AoIP and provide redundant fail-safe operation using the SMPTE2022-7 standard.
Based on Lawo’s HOME management platform for IP-based media infrastructures built on a cloud-ready microservices architecture, this installation enables the Singaporean parliament to connect, manage, and secure networked setups with centralized access control of all connected Lawo equipment.
Lawo says that given security is crucial for parliamentary proceedings, the HOME platform provides a variety of security strategies, the first of which is quarantining unknown devices trying to access the system. Only after being deliberately approved via an IEEE802.1X-based routine can connected devices begin exchanging signals within the HOME network.
