Rohde & Schwarz Adds TLV9 to Portfolio

Rohde & Schwarz has added to its portfolio of low power VHF transmitters with the R&S TLV9.

Featuring an output power of 50 to 300 W, the firm says the compact TLV9 is suitable for a number of markets.

These include DAB and DAB+ networks, mainly in Europe. In addition to DTV network operators using VHF band III in Italy, Finland, United States and Australia.

According to the company, the new transmitter boasts a number of useful features. These comprise efficiency of up to 30% efficiency, as well as simplified operation. With an “intuitive” operator interface, engineers can define operational parameters. In addition, the TLV9 provides constant feedback via SNMP, without the need for external monitoring equipment.

This, says the company, “reduces infrastructure complexity and decreases stress on the system engineer.” Rohde & Schwarz also points out that the system can operate in temperatures of to up to 45°C at full power.

The TLV9 comes with built-in performance analysis functions, including efficiency measurement and signal quality analysis. These features include a self-monitoring function that provides instant feedback on operational parameters and clear diagnostic information in the event of a fault. “This ensures consistent high quality of service and minimizes operating costs,” said the company.
