Rede Matogrossense de Comunicação is a Brazilian communications network. The group is affiliated to Rede Globo and broadcasts on radio, TV and online. Its radio stations operate under the commercial brands Morena FM, Centro América FM Easy and Centro América FM Hits.
RMC began using using AEQ digital audio mixers in 2014. The Centro América FM Hits radio station in Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso employs AEQ 12-fader Forum audio mixers.
In addition, the Centro América FM Easy radio station in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso makes use of a 12-Fader Forum console. It also has a larger 20-Fader Grand Forum.
According to AEQ, the group was the first AEQ Forum customer to connect the board to a Dante IP network using FR14 cards.
AoIP Leap
RMC recently decided to update its Morena FM station in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul to AoIP. For sound mixing, it added a 24-fader AEQ Forum IP Split. A Yamaha desk, playout software and an Orban audio processor also connect to the AoIP network.
For the integration of analog and digital signals into the station’s facility, the broadcaster installed AEQ’s Netbox 32 and Netbox 8 AoIP interfaces.
Besides a local Dante AoIP network, Morena FM uses AEQ Mercury audio codecs to transport the final program signal to the Cuiabá transmitter station. It also uses a pair of AEQ Mercury and AEQ Alio audio codecs to link to events taking place outside the station.
The AEQ Forum Split is a modular and compact digital audio on-air mixer. The console features automatic monitor cut, cough-cut, fader start, signal control, GPIO to automate the operation of external devices, external comm management and intercom.
“We managed to set up the integration and distribution of signals from several platforms into a unique AoIP solution,” explained RMC Chief Engineer Leidson Concencao. “In addition, we managed to do so while keeping as much equipment as possible in operation.”
