MUNICH — This year, Radiodays Europe will be in the heart of Munich, the Bavarian radio market.
Hosted by partners Antenne Bayern Group, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Radio Arabella, Radio Gong 96.3, VBL, VBRA and XPLR:Media in Bavaria, the gathering promises to offer a plethora of topics for attendees.

This year’s theme is “Shaping the Future of Audio,” and the event will cover many topics with a focus on AI and new smart tech, with experts from and beyond the radio, audio and podcast industries. Sessions will also focus on different audiences, such as youth and kids, and target more diverse backgrounds. Podcasts and audiobooks will be one of the main topics, including visualizing audio. The organizers say that, as always, the event will also put emphasis on topics including programming, content and journalism, in-car audio and management.

For the first time, Radiodays Europe will have an audio room where delegates can book sessions to listen to and analyze audio together in groups led by industry experts.

Packed agenda

RDE2024 kicks off on Sunday, March 17, with Radiodays Inclusive and the podcast workshop run by Methodkit in collaboration with DW Akademie. In the afternoon, the event will host the summits. These are a deep dive into the topics of “AI: Where we are now and where we are heading”; “Podcast: Insight from the best in the industry”; and “Youth: What to do to get the youth audience and how to make your workplace attractive to them.” Attendees can buy a ticket for just Sunday or get access to the summits included in a three-day ticket.

There’s a Monday night party for those keen to let their hair down and connect with colleagues and fellow radio professionals. This year, it will be at the Blitz Club at the Deutsches Museum.

There will be many networking opportunities, including a Netwalk at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 — a casual walk around the local park with questions and exercises to encourage talking and networking. Plus, there will be scheduled meetups, sponsored lounges, and many more opportunities to make new contacts and meet new friends.

Radiodays Europe General Manager Peter Neigel said, “After such a great conference in Prague last year, we knew we had a lot to do to make this year just as good, but the team has delivered a fantastic program at a brilliant venue in a wonderful city. We are so excited to be in Munich in March 2024, and we think it might even be better than 2023!”

The organizers have managed to pack a lot into the three days.
