Ravenna Website Gets a New Look

ALC NetworX has announced a redesigned website for Ravenna. The tech developers explain that the new site offers easier access to information and resources concerning all things that relate to the AoIP networking technology platform, including standards information, use cases, webinars and other resources.

In addition to a comprehensive section on AES67, the new site features a section on SMPTE ST 2110, which has information and diagrams that explain the standard, along with use cases and application examples. The section will grow as experts delve further into the subject.

A searchable Ravenna product database is forthcoming. Users will be able to search for products by manufacturer, product name and product type. The feature is still under development, but get a sneak peek here.

As with the previous site, access to certain tools and resources will require users to log in. For data privacy, users who had accounts on the old site will need to re-register.

“We’ve spent a lot of time going through every single bit of information on the old site to make sure that everything that has been transferred to the new site is fully up-to-date and relevant. We’ve also worked hard on developing the new section on SMPTE ST 2110, which we hope will eventually become the industry standard resource that we have created — and continue to develop — for AES67,” said Andreas Hildebrand, ALC NetworX’s Ravenna Evangelist.

He added that “we’ve slightly modified our trademarked Ravenna logo, but kept it green — otherwise I’d have been obliged to change my entire wardrobe!”

Ravenna is a technology for real-time distribution of audio and other media content in IP-based network environments. It is an open technology standard with no proprietary licensing policy. Because the technology uses standardized network protocols and technologies, it can operate on existing network infrastructures. It has applications in the professional broadcast market as well as other pro audio market segments like live sound, fixed installations and recording.
