Radiodays Europe 2022 announces new speakers

Radiodays Europe has announced new speakers for the 2022 event, May 15-17, in Malmö, Sweden, and online.

Paul Kaye, Rogers Sports & Media

Paul Kaye is vice president of music brands and in-house TV productions at Rogers Sports & Media, Canada. He is responsible for the strategy and brand development of the company’s music-based audio brands and in-house TV productions, including overseeing multi-platform content creation, talent success, research and branded content solutions. Before this role, Kaye was vice president of product and talent at Rogers, looking after the programming strategy for all audio brands (spoken word and music) and talent development. 

Julie Shapiro, PRX

Julie Shapiro serves as vice president of editorial for PRX and PRX’s Radiotopia podcast network. She is also the executive producer of “Ear Hustle,” the first podcast created and produced in prison, which has received recognition from the Pulitzer Prizes and the DuPont-Columbia awards. In 2000, Shapiro co-founded the Third Coast International Audio Festival, where, as artistic director, she shaped the festival’s creative trajectory and nurtured a robust international listening culture. From 2014-15, she was also the executive producer of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation/Radio National’s (RN) creative audio unit. 

Grant Blackley, Southern Cross Austereo

Grant Blackley is a highly experienced industry executive. His 35-year media industry career has included senior leadership roles at TEN Network Holdings Limited (TEN Network), one of Australia’s major free-to-air television networks, where he was CEO from 2005-2010. During his tenure at TEN Network, Blackley held key roles in media sales, digital media and multi-channel program development and was responsible for group strategy, acquisitions and executive development programs. In May 2015, he was appointed CEO and managing director of Southern Cross Austereo (SCA). He is responsible for the group’s strategy and performance of key assets, including SCA’s 99 stations across FM, AM and DAB+ radio. SCA also owns and operates TV licenses across regional Australia, broadcasting 94 free to air TV signals, including Sky News Regional in 17 TV markets across regional Queensland, Southern NSW, and Victoria. Blackley also oversees the operation of LiSTNR, Australia’s free, personalized digital audio destination for consumers featuring radio, podcasts, music and news.

Julia Schutz, Antenne NRW

Julia Schutz is the managing director and program director of Antenne NRW, a new digital broadcaster for the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. After her traineeship, she hosted various radio shows before becoming a media economist. Schutz is now a successful manager and speaker, host and jury member at specialist events, such as media and journalism awards. Although this keeps her very busy, she has a second mainstay as a boxing promoter in international competitive sports. Among other things, Julia Schutz has organized several world boxing championships.
