Quu Inc. publishes in-vehicle visuals report

Quu Inc. In-vehicle Report 2024

Quu Inc. has released its 2024 In-Vehicle Visuals Report, which offers a snapshot of radio’s place in the top 100 best-selling new vehicles in the U.S. This study uncovers radio’s strengths and areas for growth in vehicles.

Quu’s 2024 In-Vehicle Visuals Report includes a database with vehicle data, a scoreboard of dashboard features, six key findings with interpretation and insights and action steps from experts.

The six key findings are as follows:

  • AM/FM radio is ubiquitous in new vehicles.
  • AM/FM radio no longer has a dashboard monopoly.
  • A growing number of vehicles offer built-in streaming apps.
  • Two out of three new vehicles have HD Radio installed.
  • GM vehicles are an exception to the widespread adoption of HD Radio.
  • All new vehicles have in-dash text. Most can display logos and other images.

“The data tells a story of radio’s ubiquitous presence in the car but also details the inclusion of other audio sources,” said radio researcher Doug Hyde, who analyzed the data. Each automaker takes a different approach to its entertainment system, and radio now has the data to see trends and develop strategies.”

“This report serves as a crucial yardstick for broadcast radio, helping us understand whether we’re making headway in vehicles. As radio’s status evolves in future years, we will track it,” said Steve Newberry, CEO of Quu. “We are grateful to have well-respected experts like Doug, Fred, Paul, Joe, and Mike review the data and offer their perspectives on radio’s in-dash stumbling blocks and areas for growth.”
