United Kingdom-based loudspeaker manufacturer PMC has launched a new set of near-and midfield monitors.

The PMC6, PMC6-2, and PMC8-2, along with their associated subwoofers – the PMC8 SUB and PMC8-2 SUB – will replace the existing twotwo Series. The company explains that they have the same sound signature as PMC’s main monitor products – including the QB1, BB6, MB3 and IB2 models – in order to complement them.

Jeff Willcocks, PMC’s CEO, says: “PMC has always understood what is required by world-class recording professionals and our monitors are internationally renowned for delivering exceptional sound quality.”

PMC’s Commercial Director Oliver Thomas, who played a key part in the design of the new range, adds: “The last five years have been incredibly intensive as we have looked at every element of monitor design to see how we can reduce coloration and dramatically improve resolution.”

According to PMC, the design of the new speaker set incorporates all-new drivers, cutting-edge DSP and Class-D amplifiers, and significant improvements to the company’s proprietary ATL™ bass-loading and Laminair™ air flow technologies.
