NOA GmbH has announced a technology partnership with Marquis Broadcast in the United Kingdom. Together the companies have created the Medway-mediARC connector. NOA says the they designed the product to facilitate bidirectional integration with AVID Interplay.
NOA says the technology let SBA organize its archival assets through a WAN infrastructure that’s interconnected at multiple locations. Through NOA mediARC, SBA is driving the workflow from several sites in parallel. And it centrally stores all content within its AAM.
“Partnering with Marquis was the missing link to allow mediARC to connect to AVID Interplay, securing exchange on both sides,” said Christophe Kummer, NOA managing partner. “The successful installation at Sharjah Broadcasting Corp. has aspired us to develop the possibilities even further.”
The Medway-mediARC connector bridges SBA’s two AVID Interplay systems located 80 kilometers apart in Sharjah and Al Dhaid. According to NOA, Medway-mediARC allows AVID Interplay to send “OP-Atom files to mediARC for deep archiving in a normalized OP1a format.” In addition, it says, the connector allows mediARC to deliver from its ffv1 or AUX fields directly to AVID Interplay in OP-Atom over multiple regional stations.
This development means AVID Interplay users can now follow international archival standards for open source formats.
