Nautel Announces February Webinar Topics

Nautel is registering attendees for their February Transmission Talk Tuesday discussions. Transmission Talk Tuesday is an online round table series hosted by Jeff Welton. Each week he gathers special guests to discuss a range of topics related to radio transmission. Attendees are encouraged to actively participate with questions and comments.

The sessions qualify for 1/2 SBE re-certification credit.

Feb. 9 at 12 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CET)

Site Maintenance

This session will cover the tasks that should be done after an extended absence from the site, what things should be scheduled events, and what surprises have presented themselves on those site visits. Here is an opportunity to discuss routine housekeeping and emergency repairs, as well as swap war stories — where we almost got bit, but didn’t, or did get bit and what we learned. No special guests for this session — Jeff will be expecting lots of input from YOU the folks in the audience!

SNMP

This sesssion will focus on how SNMP works, what MIBs and OIDS are and how you can use them to monitor and control multiple devices from a single manager. Jeff will discuss some of the premade SNMP management devices out there, as well as some of the software managers that allow you to roll your own.

Feb. 23 at 12 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CET)

IT Security

Jeff and his guests will discuss the “shoulds” and “should nots” when it comes to keeping your network secure. They will talk about setting up a VPN and what needs to be done as a minimum to make one work in a broadcast facility.
