Beasley’s Cooney receives 2023 NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award

The National Association of Broadcasters has announced that Beasley Media Group’s Michael Cooney is the recipient of the 2023 NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award. The organization will honor him at the “We Are Broadcasters Awards,” which takes place on the main stage of the 2023 NAB Show on April 18 at 10 a.m.

At the ceremony, the NAB will also honor H. Douglas Lung, vice president of broadcast technology for NBCUniversal Local, with the 2023 Television Engineering Achievement Award.

Established in 1959, the NAB Radio and Television Engineering Achievement Awards celebrate individuals nominated by their peers for significant contributions to advancing broadcast engineering.

In addition, Cooney is a stakeholder and leader on numerous industry working groups. He’s a former chairman of NAB’s radio technology committee, a member of the NAB automotive initiative committee, a member of the technical committee for the broadcast traffic consortium and a former radio representative for the NAB fastroad committee.
