MPW to host Women in Music Tech Summit

Global teaching platform Music Production for Women has announced a two-day online Women in Music Tech Summit on Oct. 14 and 15 to empower female and non-gender conforming musicians.

A previous online one-day event organized by MPW in January 2022 attracted over 1,600 registrants from over 120 countries.

Singer and music producer Xylo Aria

The October event consists of music masterclasses featuring sessions with the likes of Berklee College of Music Fellow Marcela Rada, Las Angeles-based producer Lillian Frances and MPW’s award-winning founder and CEO, Xylo Aria. The organizers will announce more teachers over the coming month.

The days will run from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST and will feature ten workshops on various topics such as the basics of music production, sound design and mixing, as well as music marketing, PR and songwriting workflow. Both days will also include networking sessions to allow attendees to build their networks with other like-minded musicians.

“I’m hoping we can inspire any attendees who may have wanted to produce but felt intimidated by it to take their first steps in the field,” said Aria. “I know having an event like this available when I first started would have made production feel much more accessible to me!”

The Summit, backed by Australia’s Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, is free to attend, although numbers are limited. Tickets are available here.
