Mira Business FM has launched from a glass-walled studio inside the Mira Art of Living Mall in Dubai. The new station has built its operation entirely around winMedia’s broadcast software suite, supported by DHD Audio consoles and systems integration from Broadcast Solutions Group, a systems integrator specializing in comprehensive broadcast technology implementations.
Dubai has a competitive and diverse radio market catering to its international business community and large expat population. While music-led stations dominate, a business-focused format is less common, giving Mira the chance to establish a distinct identity.
At the centre of the workflow is winMedia Playout, which manages the station’s scheduling and output across multiple streams. The newsroom uses winNews, integrated directly with playout for rundown management and scripting. winMam provides media asset management across music, advertising and news content.
A unified ecosystem
Mira has also added visual radio through winCam, which uses mic-based switching over NDI to automate camera feeds. This allows video content to be produced without dedicated operators. Distribution is handled through WinStream, enabling simultaneous output on FM, mobile apps, online and podcasts.
The hardware setup includes DHD Audio’s RX2, SX2 and TX2 consoles, linked with the WinMedia ecosystem via Dante and AES67. Broadcast Solutions Group designed and installed the system to support both automated and live production.
winMedia says the installation demonstrates how its unified ecosystem can streamline broadcast operations by handling playout, newsroom, asset management, visual radio and multi-platform distribution within a single software environment.
