Mediahuis Invests in Future With OmniPlayer

Mediahuis and OmniPlayer

Mediahuis is an international media company that serves Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Ireland. With over 40 national and regional news brands, it caters to over 10 million consumers through both online and offline media.

The company announced plans to use OmniPlayer 3 radio automation software at its stations in Flanders. It will deploy the radio automation and playout system at commercial radio stations NRJ, Nostalgie (Flanders) and 10 of their themed stations soon.

“Decisive in the choice for OmniPlayer is the high satisfaction rate of users within the branch and the clear roadmap the company has for the future,” explained Luc de Groote, technical manager of Mediahuis. “OmniPlayer also offers extra possibilities for editioning within broadcasts.”

‘The stations NRJ and Nostalgie, each with six regional editions, will use the editioning function. With this, broadcasters can add onto advertisement blocks regionally and broadcast them simultaneously,” said de Groote.

OmniPlayer says that its latest version is helping Mediahuis invest in a “stable, customized future.” For example, the broadcaster can use HTML5 Newsplayer to read news items and start audio quotes.

Mediahuis Belgium has begun implementation of OmniPlayer 3. At the beginning of May, the different themed channels within the broadcasting company will move to the new OmniPlayer system, with stations NRJ and Nostalgie following.
