Italy seeks industry feedback on media and communications laws

The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has opened consultations to assess the impact of two laws affecting the media and communications sectors. Responses are due Nov. 9, 2026.

One review concerns TUSMA, Italy’s 2021 law governing audiovisual media services, including radio and television. The other covers the country’s Electronic Communications Code, which implements the European Union’s electronic communications framework. The ministry’s division responsible for radio and television broadcasting and rights of use is handling the TUSMA consultation.

The ministry is asking stakeholders to assess how the laws have worked in practice. The communications code questionnaire asks about the rules’ effects on connectivity, infrastructure deployment, competition and consumer protection.

Broadcasters and other stakeholders can find details in the ministry’s TUSMA consultation here and the Electronic Communications Code consultation here.
