WorldCast Systems has announced that Germany’s Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland has approved the Ecreso FM 3 kW transmitter for use within the network of German public broadcasters.
The Ecreso FM 3 kW joins other Ecreso transmitters, which had already met the German organization’s specifications. These include the firm’s 100–2000 W compact range, the N+1 system and the Ecreso FM 5/10 kW.
“ARD specifications are among the most demanding in the industry,” said Gregory Mercier, director of product marketing at WorldCast Systems. “We are honored that this organization has once again approved an Ecreso transmitter.
The company describes the Ecreso FM 3 kW as a fully digital transmitter for analog FM broadcasting. With a compact, modular 3U chassis, the system features built-in redundancy on its power supplies, fans and power amplifiers. This, WorldCast points out, guarantees the system will “continue broadcasting with more than 1500 W on air and for an unlimited time” in the case of MOSFET loss.
The Ecreso FM 3 kW includes the patented algorithm SmartFM. It also features a web interface, an MPX/Composite over AES input, RDS encoder, digital stereo encoder, five-band audio processor, direct-to-channel digital modulator and GPIOs.
Ecreso FM transmitters come with a standard three-year or optional 10-year warranty.
