Genelec’s GLM 4 Tutorial Series Continues

Genelec’s Sonic Reference tutorial series continues. The next one takes place Tuesday Oct. 13 at 12 p.m. CEST and 6 p.m. CEST.

Entitled “How GLM works – a Deep Technical Dive,” during this session, Genelec R&D Director Aki Mäkivirta will provide insight into the principles of acoustic calibration. He’ll also discuss how and why GLM was developed and the design philosophy that underpins it.

The online session targets engineers and creatives and “anyone who cares deeply about audio quality.” During the tutorial, Mäkivirta will cover topics including stereophonic reproduction and virtual sound images; monitoring loudspeakers and the room as a system; gear needed: measurement microphone, mic pre, measurement and analysis tools.

In addition the session will discuss methods of measuring acoustics, from history to present; what needs to be calibrated: sound color, time of flight, level; and how best GLM 4 practices.

Immediately after each session, participants will have the opportunity to ask online questions about the tutorial. Everyone successfully passing four or more modules will receive a certificate, and automatically enter a prize drawing to win a pair of Genelec RAW 8320 Smart Active Monitors and GLM kit.

The two identical sessions are one hour long and delivered in English.

Register here for the 12 p.m. session and here for the 6 p.m. session.
