Genelec goes on tour

Genelec 45 world tour

Finnish loudspeaker specialist Genelec is marking its 45th anniversary with a world tour.

The company aims to bring people together with a program of learning and listening experiences across three key initiatives. The Genelec 45 World Tour combines face-to-face events and a range of online experiences, while its Genelec | Harmony Tracks program invites musicians from all over the world to submit a piece of music celebrating their style, sound and culture to create a unifying patchwork of international musical harmony.

“Over the last 45 years we’ve created quite a company legacy, but none of this would be possible without our customers,” comments Genelec managing director Siamäk Naghian. “So we want to use this anniversary year to look forward to the future, and empower and celebrate the people that create and love sound and music.

“Our passion for perfecting sound is shared by all the professionals and creatives who rely on Genelec technology every day. By inspiring each other, we’re consistently driving the industry forward – and that’s something truly worth celebrating!”

The Genelec | Experience is a series of events which includes face-to-face listening sessions at Genelec’s growing international network of Experience Centres, complemented by hybrid and virtual events, partner events and trade shows. The Genelec | Experience enables customers to audition Genelec studio monitors as well as provide an opportunity to learn about a range of stereo and immersive loudspeaker systems in controlled, critical listening environments.

Genelec is also delivering a program of online masterclasses, tutorials, webinars and informal knowledge-sharing sessions, while its Genelec Virtual Showroom allows customers to access information and resources in an interactive VR environment.

Music Fund repairs musical instruments and donates them to music schools and socio-artistic projects in Europe, developing countries and conflict zones around the world

Meanwhile the company says that the Genelec | Harmony Tracks global music collaboration encourages even greater user engagement by inviting participants to submit a piece of music to help create a “patchwork of international musical harmony”. In addition, for every song entry submitted Genelec will donate money to Music Fund, a charity which repairs musical instruments and gives them a second life by donating them to music schools and socio-artistic projects in Europe, developing countries and conflict zones around the world.

Genelec is also encouraging its regional partners to get involved with the goal of collecting and re-distributing 45 different types of instrument globally, in a celebration of the world’s diverse musical cultures.
