Genelec Auctioning Iconic Studio Monitors

The Certified Pre-Owned Initiative Genelec S30Bs on auction

Genelec is kicking off its Certified Pre-Owned initiative with an auction of a pair of S30B three-way studio monitors, with all the proceeds going to support sustainable development projects.

The S30 has a special place in Genelec’s history. Designed by Topi Partanen and Ilpo Martikainen, it was launched in 1978 and was Genelec’s very first studio monitor. Commissioned by Finnish broadcaster YLE, the team designed the S30 to provide consistent performance, total reliability, easy serviceability and the ability to adapt to its acoustic environment.

This pair of Certified Pre-Owned S30Bs on auction date are second-generation from the early 1990s. The Genelec team in Iisalmli has factory-serviced them to deliver the same performance they would have done when initially leaving the factory. Genelec says they will come with a two-year parts-and-labor warranty, so they are a safe and secure purchase for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Proceeds from this auction will be donated to the University of Eastern Finland to support projects focused specifically on sustainable development.

The auction closes on 19 Dec. You can have a flutter — or just follow it — here.
