Ferncast to Release aixtream 2.0

Ferncast aixtream UI

Ferncast has announced it is releasing a new update to its signature streaming software next week.

The 2.0 version of aixtream will have audio-on-demand processing and metadata insertion capabilities. Customers will be able to handle podcast creation and online audio libraries (iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Deezer, Amazon Music, etc.) with aixtream. This feature includes support for DASH and CMAF. It will give users more choices for how they want to make their content available.

Ferncast also notes that the new version has improved the handling of multiple bitrates for individual OTT streaming programs by adding master streams. This function allows users to handle a program and all associated bitrates and formats without needing to manage multiple individual PIPEs every time.

The software now includes Mix Matrix and Resampler elements. Users can adjust the channel mixing of incoming audio as desired, either downmixing it to mono or reordering the channels. Resampling is now included as an explicit PIPE option, making the option more accessible to the user.

Ferncast has also added new features such as widgets for quick actions and SIP dialing, support for DVB multiplexing, new applet triggers and improved archiving options.
