DRM and AIBD Hold DRM Training Sessions

In June, the  DRM  Digital  Radio  Mondiale  consortium  and  the  Asia-Pacific  Institute  for  Broadcasting  Development  (AIBD)  announced  a  series  of three webinars entitled “DRM — Digital Radio for our Needs”

The first event, “DRM for Large or Full Country Coverage,” took place July 8. In this session consortium experts Alexander  Zink, Fraunhofer  IIS; Simon Keens, Ampegon; Yogendra  Pal, DRM  India  Platform; and Radu  Obreja, DRM Consortium provided participants with both basic and in-depth information on the DRM standard, including features and benefits.

The follow-up webinars are scheduled to take place in August and September. AIBD and DRM explain that the goal is to give all participants a clear understanding of DRM digital radio broadcasting technology and country-specific applications, through a mix of presentations, discussions and individual work. Participants will receive a participation certificate at the end of the series.

“This initiative is  a  new,  well-planned  and  collective undertaking,” said Ruxandra  Obreja,  DRM  chairman. “It offers the chance for participants to acquire valuable inforrmation that will allow them to become DRM pioneers and be part of the unique DRM sharing experience.”
