Drive to Digital 2020 Stakeholder Briefing Available on YouTube

Digital Radio UK has put together a virtual offering titled “Drive to Digital 2020 Stakeholder Video Briefing.” The video provides an update on digital radio progress in 2020 and looks ahead to key developments for 2021.

Drive to Digital has been an annual conference on the radio calendar for the last eight years. It had been held at such venues as the British Museum, the British Transport Museum, the BBC Radio Theatre and the British Library. This year, with in-person gatherings and conferences not possible, Digital Radio UK has instead created the 90-minute virtual stakeholder briefing to provide their annual update on digital radio progress and news.

It is free to access on Digital Radio UK’s YouTube channel playlist, and is available as one 90-minute video, or 10 individual sessions to watch on your own schedule.

The program covers updates on station news, government policy, small-scale DAB licensing plans, the retail and automotive sectors, international markets and more.

“Drive to Digital is back but in virtual form, and in some ways is more important and relevant than ever,” said Ford Ennals, CEO of Digital Radio UK. “This has been a challenging year for our industry like so many others, and despite this we have still seen significant digital radio progress in terms of new stations, the growth of digital platforms, the shift to DAB+, the licensing plans for small-scale DAB, progress on the Radio and Audio Review, and of course key developments across retail, automotive and international. We thought it was important to acknowledge that and take a moment to reflect upon the achievements of our industry and stakeholders in this most challenging of years. ”

Digital Radio UK adds that support from The Radio Academy, WorldDAB and all the video contributors made this year’s Drive to Digital possible.
