Cumulus names news director in Albuquerque

United States large radio group owner Cumulus Media has announced the hiring of Zoltan Csanyi-Salcedo as its news director for KKOB 770 AM/96.3 FM, a news-talk station in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He will oversee the “station’s news content strategy, newsroom operations, and talent development, ensuring the brand’s continued dominance in local news and public affairs coverage across on-air, digital, and social platforms,” according to the announcement.

It added, “Csanyi-Salcedo joins KKOB with more than three decades of award-winning experience in television and radio news leadership. He most recently served as news director at KRGV-TV in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley, where he led a bilingual newsroom recognized for investigative depth and community service journalism.”

Furthermore, “His career has spanned multiple major markets — including Albuquerque, El Paso, Dallas, and the Rio Grande Valley — with leadership roles across CBS, NBC, Univision, and Telemundo affiliates.”

KKOB(AM) traces its roots back to KOB, New Mexico’s first radio station, going on the air in 1922.
