CGI will highlight cloud-ready playout, workflow automation and AI-assisted radio production at IBC2026. The IT and business consulting services company will demonstrate its CGI dira production and playout suite, which supports radio workflows from content acquisition and scheduling through on-air playout, post-production and archiving. It will present the technology alongside its OpenMedia newsroom platform.
The dira demonstrations will include cloud playout, planning-system integration and automation designed to reduce repetitive production tasks. New voice and text-to-speech features will support the creation, adaptation and repurposing of audio for different platforms. CGI says these capabilities will work with established production processes while keeping editorial teams in control.
Michael Thielen, vice president of consulting services for media solutions at CGI, noted, “Radio production teams need technology that supports the way they already work rather than adding unnecessary complexity. The latest developments in CGI dira focus on smarter automation, flexible integration and AI-assisted workflows while keeping people firmly in control.”
CGI will also present OpenMedia Evolve, its story-centric newsroom platform for managing content across broadcast, digital and social channels. The system brings planning, content creation, task management and publishing into one environment, allowing journalists to manage a story’s lifecycle without moving between disconnected systems. Its AI-assisted functions support tagging, summarization, translation and workflow automation while retaining editorial oversight.
The company is introducing OpenMedia Evolve in phases as customers begin using it alongside existing OpenMedia installations. CGI will also outline its AI, IT and business consulting services for broadcasters modernizing their operations. These services include support for technology implementation and operational change while broadcasters maintain business continuity.
CGI will be at Stand 8.B47
