CBC/Radio Canada Teams With Twitter for Olympic Games

It CBC/Radio-Canada has announced a new partnership with Twitter Canada. Through Twitter Amplify the broadcaster’s tweets and clips on the Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 Games aim to reach a broader audience.

The Twitter Amplify program expands coverage of CBC/Radio-Canada through advertising-supported tweets.

These tweets will target users other than those already following the broadcaster’s @CBCOlympics and @RC_Sports accounts.

One of the highlights of the agreement is the availability of Twitter feeds featuring up to five Olympic Game tracks. This, says CBC/Radio-Canada, will allow the Canadian public to stay connected to its Olympic coverage and highlights. The broadcaster first used Twitter Amplify for the Rio Games in 2016. It subsequently used the solution for the 2018 Pyeongchang Games it was the only official.

“We are delighted to continue working with Twitter Canada on this new ‘two game’ partnership, said Joe Gottfried, CBC and Radio-Canada Media Solutions. “This will provide Canadians with more opportunities to access CBC/Radio-Canada’s Games coverage.”
