Automation developer Broadcast Radio is planning to show off a significant upgrade for its Myriad family, Myriad Playout 7, at the upcoming IBC show.

The company said in an announcement, “The new release is being built around a simple idea: helping stations create stronger connections with their listeners.”

To whit, listener requests and song voting are new features among a plethora of other tools and upgrades.

Stations using Myriad Playout 7 can give listeners the option to make a song request through the station’s web player.

Broadcast Radio Commercial Director Liam Burke said, “When we started planning Myriad 7, we did not want it to be just another playout upgrade with a new coat of paint. The conversations we have had with stations kept coming back to the same thing: radio needs to lean into what makes it special. That means presenters, shows, local identity, audience interaction and the feeling that somebody is actually listening back.”

He detailed, “The new engagement tools in Myriad 7 are designed to bring more of that into the studio workflow. Requests, voting, show information, presenter details and AI Voice Links all become part of a more connected platform. It should help stations create better live radio, but also make fully automated and cloud stations feel more personal and more relevant.”

The new release will beta in September and officially launch in December.

Broadcast Radio will be at Stand 8.B77c.
