Brandy scores a hat trick with WNIC

Brandy WNIC

Detroit’s legendary WNIC has called on Belgium brand developers Brandy for the third year on the bounce to produce the audio branding for its popular “Jay Towers in the Morning” show.

The station selected tracks from Brandy’s growing Kick Up catalog, which contains tracks edited and crafted to sound as if they have been custom-made. Tracks from the series were used as the basis of the new package and tailored to meet the brief for one of the leading morning shows in U.S.

“The special thing about Brandy is the unique sound they create,” says WNIC morning host Jay Towers. “Consistency is everything for us and when you use jingles, you want them to be an extension of your brand. They should never sound out of place. They have to be part of the fabric of your show. Our listeners come up and sing our Brandy jingles to us. So Brandy, Detroit loves you!”

Tom Van der Biest, creative director at Brandy: “It’s a pleasure to work with Jay. He knows exactly what he wants. And a strong end-result almost always starts with a strong briefing.”
