Benztown staff members spent Nov. 18 supporting Ascencia, a homelessness nonprofit in Glendale, California, by acting as guest chefs at its community facility. The radio imaging and production company said the team provided lunch for 40 residents and staff, sourcing it from the fast-food chain Jersey Mike’s.
Among the volunteers were Benztown president Dave “Chachi” Denes, director of marketing and business development Steven Cheng, and senior staffers including Irma Romano, Darren Silva, Shane Drasin and Robby Gessel, with communications lead Susan Aksu documenting the visit.
Ascencia is a non-profit organization that provides housing and support services to people experiencing homelessness across Glendale, West Hollywood, Northeast Los Angeles and East Hollywood. The nonprofit offers street outreach, interim housing and long-term support through 242 permanent supportive housing units. It reports that 97% of its clients remain housed for at least 1 year after placement.
Benztown said the initiative is part of its ongoing community support programs in the Los Angeles area.
