Barix releases new IP audio client firmware

According to Barix, the V2 7.0 update for Exstreamer M400 and IP Former will provide the following:

  1. AES67 for integration with Dante and other third-party systems. Barix Audio devices with IP audio client can boot in AES67 operations mode, which supports multiple stream discovery protocols, including SAP (Session Announcement Protocol), as used by Dante.
  2. An IC Paging solution. PS Touch or any other IC Paging master station running Barix IC Paging solution can now page into IP Formers or Exstreamer M400 (one or to a group). BARP (Barix Paging Protocol) protocol is part of the new firmware release.
  3. Synchronized play-out across devices. According to Barix, a new feature in the IP audio client firmware allows to play out streams in sync among multiple devices. The firmware now supports two RTP playback modes: low latency – for playing announcements with low delay over RTP – or regular, for BGM applications.
