ANTWERP, Belgium — During the “Week van de Belgische Muziek” (“Belgian Music Week”), Jan. 22–28, Play Nostalgie tailored its music program to highlight local talent. “There’s more in Belgium than French fries, chocolates and beer,” said station manager Jo Nachtergaele. “We invited our listeners on a Belgian music trip during our daily ‘Simply the Best’ morning feature and the ‘Made in Belgium’ show where presenter Larissa joined the French language Nostalgie Belgique host Jean-Marie De Bol to exchange popular Belgian tracks crossing the language border.”

On Friday, Jan. 26, Play Nostalgie staged an exclusive Axelle Red concert for a limited number of the station’s listeners. The show highlighted the superstar singer’s 30-year career and her recent ‘AR 30 Best of’ anthology album, offering a catching survey of her greatest hits.

“It was a great night”, Axelle Red enthused, “It’s obvious that the Play Nostalgie audience spans a wide range of age groups. It’s great to see how, as an artist, you become part of people’s lives. That’s what gives me the energy to continue for another 30 years.”
