AudioGO enters Canada

AudioGO, the self-serve audio ad-buying platform owned by SiriusXM, has announced its launch in Canada, enabling marketers to run audio campaigns on the top streaming music, radio and podcast publishers all in one place. AudioGO says it is focused on removing barriers of entry to the audio ad-buying space — a move that should rattle media buying agencies. To promote its entry into Canada, the company is partnering with some of the biggest names in the country’s audio business to help businesses run ad campaigns on TuneIn, Audiomack, Corus, Stingray Music, and idobi.

AudioGO’s expansion northwards from the United States comes on the back of exciting growth — the company says its publisher network has over 100 million unique monthly listeners in the United States alone, in both English and Spanish.

According to Edison Research’s Infinite Dial, there are 38 million people in Canada, with nearly three-quarters (28 million) of those aged 18 and older streaming music, radio, and podcasts every month. Only four years ago, that figure was 57 percent, and just last year, digital audio surpassed AM/FM radio as the country’s top listening format for the first time.
