AEQ has supplied more than 100 of its Capitol IP digital audio mixers to Indian public radio broadcaster All India Radio as part of a major technical upgrade across more than 33 regional stations.
According to the company, the broadcaster awarded the project to AEQ after a “grueling” three-month evaluation process that covered three different types of studio. Every console features Dante connectivity, while AIR specified different console setups for its transmission, switching studios and dubbing studios.
AIR’s transmission studio is built around AEQ’s Capitol IP 12 TT desktop console, with 12 faders, four microphones, Four AES/EBU inputs and outputs, 12 analog inputs and eight outputs and 16 Dante bidirectional channels.
The broadcaster’s switching studios are based on AEQ’s Capitol IP8 TT desktop console, with eight faders, four microphones, four AES/EBU inputs and outputs, 12 analog inputs and four analog outputs and 16 Dante bidirectional channels.
In addition, AIR’s dubbing studios all use AEQ’s Capitol IP12 TT desktop console and have 12 faders, four microphones, four AES/EBU inputs and outputs, 12 analog inputs and eight outputs, as well as 16 bidirectional Dante channels. The station added an AEQ Netbox 4MH AoIP terminal with capacity for four additional microphones and four stereo headphone outputs to each console.
AEQ adds that delivery and installation took place throughout 2021 and 2022, with no delays thanks to efficient stock planning for components at the company’s central factory in Madrid. Falcon Technologies, AEQ’s Indian distribution partner, provided the technical support.
AIR is the national public radio broadcaster of India and is a division of Prasar Bharat. Established in 1936, it has been officially known as Akashvani (“Voice from the Sky”) since 1957.
