Spanish broadcast equipment specialist AEQ has helped a dream come true in the Spanish region of Campoo de Enmedio with the installation of a Capitol IP digital console and the AudioPlus automation system.

“Today I am accomplishing a dream, to make radio in my home region,” said Spanish journalist Raúl González, who is in charge of the new radio station.

Radio Merindad de Campoo (MCRadio 107.9FM), is based in Matamorosa and licensed by the municipality of Campoo de Enmedio. Its aim is to provide the 4,000 people of the municipality with information and entertainment. AEQ has been a technological partner from the early planning stages and has worked with González throughout the project.

The station is built around a self-contained kit which AEQ says is designed to be easy to set up and includes a AEQ Capitol IP digital audio console as well as the radio automation software AEQ AudioPLUS.

AEQ Capitol IP is an eight-channel fixed configuration digital audio mixing console. IP connectivity is based on 16 input and 16 output channels, which are incorporated in the console core and provides a variety of input capacity with four mic/line, 12 analog, four digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), two digital stereo USB, two optional telephone lines, and optional digital multi-channel audio links. The console also provides 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet connectors or 64 MADI channels input over optical fiber.

AEQ AudioPLUS supplies radio automation to provide a management and playout system as well as audio storage, editing and playout functionality.
