Alpha FM upgrades main studio with AEQ Capitol IP console

Alpha FM, part of Brazil’s ND Group media organization, has upgraded its main broadcast studio with an AEQ Capitol IP digital console as part of a technical modernization project. According to AEQ, the investment is intended to support the station’s continued development across support the station’s broadcast operation across Florianópolis, Itapema and the Vale do Rio Tijucas region in Santa Catarina. 

AEQ says the project centers on the installation of its Capitol IP digital console, which will become the core of Alpha FM’s on-air production environment. The company describes the upgrade as combining operational flexibility with a studio architecture designed to support current and future broadcast requirements. 

According to AEQ, the Capitol IP platform was selected for its IP connectivity and ability to integrate multiple audio workflows within a compact footprint. The console separates the control surface from the processing engine and is designed for radio environments that require centralized management of audio sources and studio operations. 

AEQ says the installed configuration provides connectivity for microphone and line inputs, analog and AES/EBU digital channels, USB integration and optional expansion modules. According to the company, the platform can also support digital multichannel audio transport through MADI and Audio over IP connectivity. 

The company says the studio upgrade is intended to provide Alpha FM with infrastructure capable of supporting daily live production while allowing for future expansion as operational needs evolve.
