Matching its NAB Show news Wheatstone pushes the Linux acceptance envelope with the introduction of its Linux audio driver at the IBC Show.

The release added, “WheatNet IP Linux audio driver options are available for supporting up to 24 simultaneous audio streams in and out, depending on host capabilities, and 128 SLIO ports for extensive network-based logic control functions without physical cabling.”
But the company isn’t jumping the Windows ship assuring anyone getting nervous, “Wheatstone continues to offer its Windows audio driver.”
Wheatstone Director of Product Development Kelly Parker said, “A Linux driver makes sense at this time as one more option for adding greater security and stability across the network.”
And this just in — Wheatstone will also be showing Navigator 5.0, its WheatNet IP management software. An announcement said, “Navigator 5.0 adds new network I/O diagnostics, failover management, and automatic system backup capabilities, plus extended logic status to third-party devices and other advancements for today’s evolving studio operations.”
Wheatstone will be at Stand 8.A56 in Amsterdam.
