Triton’s March U.S. podcast ranker released

Those of you who have Crime and News boxes on your U.S. Podcast Ranker bingo card, put your chips on those boxes.

Triton Digital has released its third 2024 U.S. Podcast Ranker, covering Feb. 26 through March 31, and to absolutely no one’s surprise, the categories of crime and news lead the way.

According to the announcement, “the top three podcasts based on downloads included NPR News Now (NPR) again at #1, Dateline NBC (NBCUniversal News Group) again at #2, and Crime Junkie (audiochuck) climbing to #3.”

From the listenership angle, “the top three podcasts included NPR News Now (NPR) again at #1, Crime Junkie (audiochuck) again at #2, and Up First (NPR) again at #3.”

It added, “SiriusXM Podcast Network remained in the #1 spot on the Top Sales Networks Report for the month of March, with 42.5M Average Weekly Downloads and 13.2M Average Weekly Users. NPR came in again at #2 with 25.1M Average Weekly Downloads and 7.0M Average Weekly Users, followed by Wondery again at #3 with 21.0M Average Weekly Downloads and 6.8M Average Weekly Users.” SiriusXM, NPR/NPM and crime specialist Wondery have continually dominated the podcast market.
