Looking beyond AI hype and the usual expected announcement and gossip, the recent NAB Show a fun bit of news for broadcast audio enthusiasts — the merger, melding, alliance, umbrellaship, whatever of three small but well-known companies: Angry Audio, Logitek and MaxxKonnect.

Triple Helix Technologies is the new name but at a press conference it was said by the principals that each company will retain its familiar identity and product lines. Asked if there would be Triple Helix Technologies-branded products, the response was that it was possible but not the goal nor a priority.

The personnel layout will be like so: “Josh Bohn [MaxxKonnect] leading the charge as CEO, Michael “Catfish” Dosch [Angry Audio] heading up product development, and Tag Borland [Logitek] wrangling technology. The three long-time industry veterans will be equal co-owners of the company,” a release said.

Bohn explained the “genesis” of the combination as “using technology innovation to help broadcasters with more modest budgets do more and spend less.”
