Telos highlights Studio Zero at IBC

In a demonstration of cross-continental cooperation the Telos Alliance is using the IBC show to debut the fruits of its partnership with France’s Ip-Studio.

Those fruits, according to Telos, are “Studio Zero,” a “cloud-based studio solution,” aimed at creating and powering small, remote and mobile studios for broadcasters. The point is to leave behind cumbersome hardware when possible.

The first iteration of the Studio Zero concept is the new Altus virtual mixing console using a version of Ip-Studio’s IP-Tablet console software. It also uses Ip-Studio’s IP-Screener to control the Telos VX virtual VoIP system if so desired. Also being linked together on the Altus platform are integration of the Telos Infinity virtual intercom system and Omnia Enterprise 9s virtual audio processing. The latter can provide a digital ųMPX feed to the transmitter.

Ip-Studio Owner and President Jérôme Gahery said, “Studio Zero enables broadcasters to craft a creative environment wherein conventional hardware elements such as automation and playout systems, consoles, intercoms, phone systems, even audio processing and delivery of a composite signal to the transmitter, are all replaced by cloud-based software alternatives. Broadcasters on the leading edge who are seeking greater flexibility and economies of scale tell us they greatly appreciate the benefits gained by such an approach.”
