Telos delivers new DTV processors at NAB Show

Telos Alliance, Linear Acoustic, processors

The Telos Alliance’s Linear Acoustic badge brought new Aero DTV processors for loudness management to Las Vegas.

According to a release, “Aero.20, Aero.200, and Aero.2400 offer the same trusted loudness control, upmixing, Nielsen and Verance Aspect audience measurement watermarking, Dolby coding, and flexible local audio insertion for EAS and text-to-speech as their predecessors, but introduce several new and important features. These include dual independent 3G SDI I/O paths to support 1080p signals, user-selectable metering and logging options for EBU R 128 or ATSC A/85, and an updated Windows 10 IoT operating system to provide additional security features.”

Also from Linear Acoustic, the LA-5300 Broadcast Audio Processor is getting a very useful new feature — optional Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos encoding (also known as Dolby Digital Plus with JOC/Joint Object Encoding).

Linear Acoustic Product Manager Larry Schindel said, “The ability to provide the option of Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos greatly expands the usefulness of the LA-5300 and positions it as a universal television audio processor and encoder. Whether you’re an over-the-air broadcaster using Dolby AC-4 to provide immersive audio or distributing immersive content via over-the-top or streaming platforms using Dolby Digital Plus with Atmos, the LA-5300 delivers.”
