Studio 100 Launches Radio Vlaanderen

Access to Radio Vlaanderen is free for listeners and Flanders-based digital radio content producers

Multimedia company Studio 100 has a new digital radio platform aimed at Belgium’s Flemish-speaking population Radio Vlaanderen

Launched as part of “Week van de Digitale Radio” (Digital Radio Week), the media company wants to offer a comprehensive survey of the complete Flemish digital radio landscape.

“Recent figures published by survey company Ipsos revealed that 44% of the 2454 age bracket tuned in to digital radio the past months, accounting for 18% of the listening volume,” said Anja Van Mensel, CEO of Studio 100 Benelux. “The new portal wants to facilitate access to the complete Flemish digital radio production horizon and promote digital online listening in Flanders.”

Access to Radio Vlaanderen is free for listeners and Flanders-based digital radio content producers. Initially, the platform offers live radio broadcasts; a second phase will see the addition of podcasts. Studio 100 says that the Radio Vlaanderen portal is, and will remain, ad-free; individual radio stations must generate their own revenue.

In addition to the recently launched Studio 100 DAB+ station “100 crooners,” Studio 100 also offers nine new thematic digital channels for online listening: 100 Musicals, 100 Classics, 100 Films, 100 Women, 100% Zen, 100 Slows, 100 Kids, 100 van Jou (Your 100) and 100 Funny facts.
