The United States-based Society of Broadcast Engineers has been busy as of late.
The broadcast engineers group announced “three updated Broadcast Station Self-Inspection Guides for AM, FM, and television stations. These revised guides provide broadcasters with practical guidance for conducting self-inspection of their stations.”
The guides were the product of co-operation between the SBE and the National Association of Broadcasters and “reflect FCC rule and policy changes since the initial editions were released in 2024,. according to an announcement.”
The announcement added, “The guides are intended for use by station personnel, as well as contract inspectors participating in the Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program, which is administered by state broadcaster associations.”
The guides are available for free to SBE and NAB membership.
The SBE has also declared the recent membership drive to be a success, adding 49 new members.
Although U.S.-based, the SBE has more than 4,000 members in 117 chapters in the United States plus chapters in Hong Kong and Eastern Europe.
