The United States-based Society of Broadcast Engineers has named this year’s recipients of the annual lot of scholarships.
Diovany Deus is the recipient of the Harold E. Ennes Scholarship, Deus, already an SBE Certified Broadcast Television Engineer, currently works as a broadcast systems technician at WESH(TV) in Orlando, Fla. He is pursuing a Master of Science in Information Technology degree.
Recent high school graduate Adrianna Taliercio is the recipient the Ennes Youth Scholarship. At her high school in New Jersey she participated in TV production of a daily show. She plans to continue her broadcast work at Monmouth University.
Brendan Temkin, a student at Hofstra University, is the recipient of the Robert D. Greenberg Scholarship. Temkin is active with the well-known school radio station WRHU(FM). He’s also experienced on and off-air roles in sports broadcast media. He plans a permanent career as a broadcast engineer.
Wake Tech Community College student Katie Herring is the recipient of the John H. Battison SBE Founder’s Scholarship. She is finishing her North Carolina Association of Broadcasters Technology Academy work for Certified Broadcast Technologist in radio.
The winner of the Gino Ricciardelli Scholarship is Wichita State University student Tanner Denoyer. Though only recently a high school graduate, Denoyer already has professional radio engineering experience at KSCB(FM) in Liberal, Kan. He is aiming for a career in electronic engineer, especially for broadcast systems.
