RTL strengthens lead among private radio podcast publishers

RTL has reinforced its position as France’s leading private radio broadcaster in podcast listening, reporting nearly 37.8 million downloads in November, according to EAR Podcast data from Médiamétrie, France’s audience measurement organization. The figures underline the growing role of podcasting within RTL’s broader audio strategy.

The results place RTL ahead of other commercial radio groups in the French podcast market, with several of its programs ranking among the most listened to nationwide. “Les Grosses Têtes” (The Big Heads), hosted by Laurent Ruquier, was the most listened-to podcast in France during the month, with close to 17 million downloads.

RTL also recorded seven podcasts in the national Top 30, supported by established editorial brands including “Entrez dans l’histoire” (Step Into History), “L’heure du crime” (The Crime Hour), “L’œil de Philippe Caverivière” (The Eye of Philippe Caverivière) and comedy content led by Laurent Gerra. According to the broadcaster, this performance is supported by a steadily expanding content library, which now includes around 300 podcasts available via the RTL app.
