With the Radio TechCon show approaching, organizers have announced that applications for 20 free tickets, AKA the bursary scheme, are now open. The U.K.’s radio technical and engineering conference is scheduled for Nov. 25 at IET London: Savoy Place.
According to the announcement, “The bursary scheme supports those who are from backgrounds underrepresented in broadcast engineering and technology, or who are facing a financial barrier which would prevent them from attending the conference.”
Included with the bursary is a free year-long membership to The Radio Academy.
Sponsors providing funds include CGI, Bauer Media Group, News UK, The Radio Academy, 2wcomOffice of the Adjudicator for the Broadcast Transmission Services, togglebit, Unnamed Media, Brun Audio Consulting, Ann Charles Media and Clockhouse Media.
Additional funds for transportation can be applied for as well.
The bursary application, along with details, is here. Deadline is Nov. 5.
Ann Charles, from show organizers TBC Media Ltd., said, “Making sure that engineering events are accessible to all is a core part of what our event is about.”
